Are perennial losers St Kilda set to break supporters' hearts again, or is this team different?

I've never heard a conversation about footy or cricket that I haven't wanted to join in immediately. If you disagree with me, you'll be made to work very hard to change my mind!

If I was a Melbourne supporter, I’d be disappointed to be sitting there, that’s for sure. But I suppose one flag in almost 60 years is plenty.
Polish up your big screens, because a classic round of AFL footy is coming
Melbourne are in no man’s land Billy, and not much better than bog average. Last nine games, won five and lost four, with three of those wins by 4, 1 and 4 points. I must have missed all the domination. It certainly didn’t happen against Brisbane where they were comprehensively outplayed, but they are the great wins when you somehow sneak away with an undeserved four points!

Ha. I’ve actually seen it myself!

Yep, Jackson was very good at a pivotal point in that GF, but had minimal impact last year.
Yes, but you don’t need a Grundy as injury insurance, just need to find a solid contributor.
Don't waste the time or money - ruckmen are the most overrated stock in the AFL
I just wouldn’t. Rookie list or bring one in from another club when you need it.

Yep, I agree with this.

Not much difference between Max’s form in 2021 winning the flag and 2019 when they won four games. So I don’t agree that his dominance won them that flag. A ruckman is just a ruckman, regardless of how good they are (and he is obviously exceptional).

Pittonet is a classic example of what I’m talking about. On Hawthorn’s list for 4-5 years for a handful of games from memory, maybe some injuries. More than competant ruckman that costs very little and can spend the money elsewhere in more vital positions.

You got me there Don. Darcy and Witts with two finals between them in 18 combined seasons has really shown me up.

I stand with Grant on this one, certainly.

Fascinating, isn’t it.
The Suns botch another coaching exit after hanging Stuart Dew out to dry
Why should any club supporter care about “seeing Australian rules football expand”?
Does a 50yo St Kilda supporter, having never seen their team win a flag, care about expanding into places where no-cares about the game?

Yep, good call. We’ve been denied a truly great contest with no Archer. Hopefully Wood can add some spice, although I’m very surprised they’ve dropped Tongue for him instead of Robinson.
Last test, Tongue got Warner, Khawaja, Smith, Warner, Smith, and bowled some very dangerous balls and made us look uncomfortable.
Robinson got Labuschagne, Lyon, Hazlewood, Green and Carey.
Tongue went for a few more runs, but not egregiously so, and they’ve got plenty of bowlers that can contain. The wrong call.
Bazball is entertaining, hypocritical, enthralling, delusional, glorious, self-righteous ... and destined to fail in Ashes
Yep, a massive factor.
Bazball is entertaining, hypocritical, enthralling, delusional, glorious, self-righteous ... and destined to fail in Ashes
The main weakness of Bazball batting, as we’ve seen in the first two tests, is that it gives strong opposition too much time to win the match.
Australia has the #2, 3, 4 and 7 ranked batsmen in the world, and by batting roughly 75 overs an innings, England is giving us 300 overs to control the game.

Huge game for the Crows. A top four spot is there for them if they win it.
Have Collingwood and Port peaked too early? The smokies that are timing their run to September
I must admit, I think if ever there is a year where the flag won’t come from 5th-8th, it’s this year. I just don’t think they’re good enough.

Absolutely outstanding. 😂 😂 😂
The spirit of cricket was murdered in cold blood by sunburnt thugs - and the game might never recover

Perhaps I just have higher standards for them? It’s something of a surprise to find most supporters don’t.
