Absolutely. There has to be a will. Many people are saying Albo’s bandwagoning of the Matildas is not a good thing. What is the PM apart from the country’s Salesman? If he’s getting it out there and promoting it, good on him. I think the PM who is more universally liked / appreciated than any other was Hawke. That’s what he did.

I see it happen in number of sports. When l coached kids I’d say if you don’t have ball, bat or racquet in your hand and practice dribbling it (which applies to football, hockey & basketball) or kicking or bowling, bat-bouncing a ball you are behind the 8 ball. Example: Ponting always had a bat in his hand; always

Yes. In the High School l attended it had 6 fully functional and maintained courts. We had 2 AF fields, 2 ⚽ and 2 Hockey fields.

In this discussion on fields AF and Cricket share fields. There is hardly any mention on these pages about that fact. It appears, it appears, that some people are saying that AF ovals are a one use field. If they aren’t l haven’t seen it articulated anywhere.

True, no it was someone saying Football was clean in Australia but drugs were big in AF & RL. My point is where the most money is is where the most drugs are. And around in most countries it’s Football. It’s not a sport per se thing so much as an abundance of money in the community that they are in.

When l was teaching l couldn’t believe how many tennis courts were dilapidated. I fought one school to get the kids bikes n skateboards of the courts so that kids could practice tennis. No wonder we have a paucity of tennis players.

Football does good in Wagga. Wagga is my favourite town in all of Australia. Kids here in the Northern Rivers and the weather but I’m still a Croweater but to live? Wagga!!! Hands down because it’s such sportnuts city

I think you’ll find where the highest riches are in a sport in any given country you’ll find illicit and licit drug use high. In Australia that happens to be in AF & RL. In England, Italy, Brazil, Argentina & Germany it’s Football. Maradona, Best, Caniggia, Ferdinand, Bosnich, Johnstone, Toure, etc, ….. Oh, that’s right, facts!
